This technical report presents an overview of NIJ Standard-0205.02 for Mobile Antennas developed by the Office of Law Enforcement Standards of the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

Abstract

This report establishes minimum performance requirements and methods of test for antennas that are mounted on police vehicles or other mobile platforms used by law enforcement agencies. This equipment standard, NIJ Standard-0205.02 was developed by the Office of Law Enforcement Standards for the National Institute of Standards and Technology and is a revision of NIJ Standard-0205.01. It incorporates the latest recommended methods and procedures of industry standards related to communication antennas and environmental test procedures. The report on NIJ Standard-0205.02 for mobile antennas includes: purpose and scope, classification, definitions, requirements (minimum performance, user information, environmental, antenna power rating, relative antenna gain, radiation pattern, voltage standing wave radio, and radiation hazard), and test methods (standard test conditions, instrumentation, Rf performance tests, environmental test methods, and radiation hazard).
