Findings show that for the 4 years of the study, almost 20 percent of working people in Idaho experienced some form of sexual or gender harassment in the last 12 months. Results indicate that victims tend to be women (though there are a significant number of men who are harassed, mostly by other men), in work environments that are either mixed or composed of mostly men. The profile of the harasser is a youngish, White, male who is a co-worker or supervisor, but usually a co-worker. Data do not indicate that victims are mostly single women; though a predominance of harassment for this grouping was found. Because the race of the victims was so homogeneous in this majority White State, whether minority group women or men tend to be singled out for harassment could not be investigated. Data were collected from a random sample of 2,000 households in 1999, 4,000 households in 2000, 4,250 in 2001, and 3,000 households in 2003 in Idaho drawn by Survey Sampling of Connecticut.
