Abstract
Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is an initiative developed by the U.S. Department of Justice to combat gun crime. PSN consists of a network of local partnerships coordinated through the Nation's 94 U.S. Attorneys' Offices and supported by a strategy that provides them with the resources they need to be successful in reducing gun crime. The PSN initiative integrates five essential elements from successful gun crime reduction programs: partnerships, strategic planning, training, outreach, and accountability. This CD-ROM contains eight case studies for PSN's "Strategic Interventions." These include: Case Study 1 - Gun Prosecution Case Screening (NCJ 240865); Case Study 2 - Offender Notification Meetings (NCJ 240866); Case Study 3 - Crime Incident Reviews (NCJ 240867); Case Study 4 - Chronic Violent Offenders Lists (NCJ 240868); Case Study 5 - Middle District of Alabama (NCJ 240869); Case Study 6 - Lowell, District of Massachusetts (NCJ 240870); Case Study 7 - Eastern District of Missouri (NCJ 240871); and Case Study 8 - Strategic Problem-Solving Responses to Gang Crime and Gang Problems (NCJ 240872).
