This article discusses the Court Residential Treatment Center (CRTC) concept as an alternative to incarceration and updates the authors' May 1984 article, "Court Residential Treatment Centers: Selected Observations" (see NCJ 232847).
Abstract
The CRTC concept presents a alternative to offender incarceration. This works incorporates some El Paso CRTC program historical and experimental elements from a prior article (May 1984), but with an updated addition of a generic CRTC/community-based programs evolutionary perspective, with implications that extend beyond particular community-based/CRTC program, agency, and geographic insularity.
