Abstract
This publication contains four main articles: 1) DFO Formulations in Non-Ozone Depleting Solvents which describes the search for an effective ozone-friendly formulation of the fingerprint reagent 1,8-diazafluoren-9-one (DFO); 2) Educational Aids for Bloodstain Pattern Analysis which discusses how educational tools, primarily used in a teaching situations, can be successfully introduced into a court of law to aid in the presentation of bloodstain pattern analysis (BPA); 3) A Synopsis of "The Topographic History of the Volar Pads (Walking Pads; Tastbellen) in the Human Embryo" which describes a study of the development of the volar pads (eminences found on the plantar and palmar surfaces of human beings where friction ridge skin is found) in the human embryo; and 4) Case Law [2002] R. v. J-LH which examines a case study involving a judgment which excluded expert evidence.
