Lynch, Ph.D., respectively; the NIJ assessment from the National Academies expert panel which identifies a number of strengths and weaknesses, calls for fundamental reforms, and recommends a significant increase in funding for criminal justice research; information on a new Web site which focuses on drug courts and provides information, support, and networking opportunities to help drug court professionals, policymakers, clients, and citizens nationwide to better understand drug courts; the published recommendations of the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) Cost Savings Task Force on how to make the survey more cost effective and identifies the most promising options for survey cost reductions; an article on identity theft which states that a BJS analysis of NCVS data show that, from 2005 to 2007, reports of identity theft increased with 7.9 million households, in the United States now reporting that at least one member of the household had been a victim of one or more types of identity theft; and the National Center for Juvenile Justice (NCJJ) recently published Juvenile Court Statistics, 2006-2007 which describes trends in delinquency cases processed in more than 2,100 juvenile courts between 1985 and 2007 as well as the status offense cases handled between 1995 and 2007, along with the profiles on the almost 1.7 million juvenile court cases handled during 2006 and 2007.
