This book contains the proceedings from the Second American Time Series Meeting held in Houston, TX, on August 6-7, 1981.
Abstract
This meeting was the final pilot conference to be held before a fixed series of events was established for the American Statistical Association's annual summer meetings. The intent of the conferences is to discuss recent developments in the theory and practice of time series analysis and forecasting, and to bring together individuals from diverse parent disciplines, work environments, and geographical locations. The papers from this conference include a plenary contribution on Direct Quadratic Spectrum Estimation, and another important paper on the Distribution of the Serial Correlation Coefficient. The remainder of the papers deal primarily with the practical applications of time series analysis and forecasting, mainly in the time domain.
