This book is an anthology of articles and papers dealing with current issues in criminal justice.
Abstract
This book contains papers and articles on current issues and the changing scope of the criminal justice system in America. The papers examine crime, community policing, court productivity, and intermediate sanctions, as well as fundamental issues that are confronted by the criminal justice system such as racial discrimination, juries, and the death penalty. This book is intended for use by practitioners and instructors in criminal justice. The book is divided into six primary units that contain an introduction and specific chapters relating to the main topic. The six primary units are: Unit I - Crime in America; Unit II - American Law Enforcement; Unit III - American Courts; Unit IV - American Corrections; Unit V - American Juvenile Justice; and Unit VI - The Future of Justice in America.
