This annual report presents data and information on the activities and financial affairs for the Department of Juvenile Justice for the fiscal year July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. The report is divided into eight sections that discuss: (1) an overview of the Department, its organization, its research efforts, and its corporate plans for 2007-2011; (2) information on young people within the juvenile justice system; (3) information on youth justice conferencing; (4) information on young offenders in the community; (5) information on young people in custody; (6) information on governance, privacy, and oversight; (7) information on the workforce capacity of the department; and (8) financial statements for the department for the year ending June 30, 2009.
