This report from the North Dakota Attorney General's office presents information on homicides in the State for the year 2009, along with trend data for the period 1990 to 2009.
Abstract
Highlights from this report regarding homicides in North Dakota include: in 2009, 15 homicide deaths were reported to the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program; 7 of the victims were male, 4 were under the age of 3 months, and 11 were over the age of 18; firearms were involved in 6 of the homicides, and 12 of the homicides were the result of domestic violence; and all of the identified assailants were adults. Trend data for the period 1990 to 2009 include: the average number of homicides per year was 11; 57 percent of the victims were male and 82 percent were adults, with 39 percent being between the ages of 21 and 40; 41 percent of the homicides involved the use of a firearm; and 54 percent of the deaths due to homicide involved domestic violence.
