Highlights from this report indicate that while violent offenses at the State level show a strong seasonal variation they have remained at a stable rate for the 5 year period ending December 2010, and that property offenses at the State level, while they display less seasonal variation, have shown a downward trend for the 5 year period ending December 2010. For the 24-month period ending December 2010, violent offenses did not show any uptrends at the State, Statistical Division, and the Metropolitan Statistical Subdivision, while property offenses did not show any uptrends at the State and Metropolitan Statistical Subdivision. This report from the New South Wales (NSW) Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research presents data on crime reported to, or detected by, the NSW police force for the period January 1995 to December 2010. Data for this report came from the Computerized Operational Policing System (COPS) of the NSW police force.
