Abstract
This drug data sheet from the drug manufacturer Roxane Laboratories presents information on methadone (dolophine hydrochloride CII), a drug used for the treatment of acute or chronic pain, and for the treatment of opioid addictions. Information included in the fact sheet includes: conditions for distribution and use of methadone to treat opioid addictions; a description of the chemical makeup of the drug; the clinical pharmacology of the drug; dosing and administration of methadone; the indications and usage of the drug, either for treatment of acute and chronic pain, or for opioid addictions; contraindications of the drug; and warnings about the drug. Hazards associated with the use of methadone are also listed in the fact sheet and include cardiac conduction effects, interactions with other CNS depressants, interactions with alcohol and drugs of abuse, acute abdominal conditions, and hypotensive effects.
