Abstract: This document from the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics, presents data on 2010-levels of government expenditures and employment for the following justice categories: police protection, judicial and legal functions, and corrections. Data for the report were obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Annual Government Finance Survey and Annual Survey and Annual Survey of Public Employment. The data in the report covers employment and expenditure levels for State, local, tribal, and Federal governments. The data included in the report is preliminary and the findings are subject to change as analysis of the data continues. The report is available online through the U.S. Department of Justice Web site, and the findings are presented in Excel spreadsheets. Tables
