Abstract
The Erie County Juvenile Court has jurisdiction over juvenile dependency, neglect, abuse, delinquency, unruly behavior, traffic offenses, juvenile bindovers to adult court, certain adult crimes referred to Juvenile Court, paternity actions, custody change, child support enforcement, child visitation and the modifications that occur in these areas, and contempt proceedings. Data are reported on court expenditures in various areas for each of the years from 1986 through 2012. Data on caseload indicate that during calendar year 2012, a total of 2,961 cases were referred to the Juvenile Court. Data are reported by case type. Court case disposition options are outlined. The numbers of delinquency cases were reported separately by sex, and the total number of youth and adults referred in 2012 were reported by case type and sex. Other data address commitment to the Ohio Department of Youth Services by sex for each of the years 2008 through 2012; motions filed in 2012 and for each of the years from 2008 through 2012; and fines, court costs, fees, and bond forfeitures for 2012. Information and data are reported for 2012 on the following court-administered services: probation, community service restitution program, Intake Department, diversion program, and RECLAIM Ohio and youth services grants. Reports on other court activities address electronic monitoring, mediation, drug testing, county juvenile correctional facilities, and the Family Drug Court program.
