The report focuses on activities conducted by law enforcement agencies that use JAG funds to support the work of task forces that served judicial search warrants, arrested gang members, seized firearms, and dismantled and disrupted drug trafficking or other street gang organizations. These task forces are often multijurisdictional and may include agencies across several levels working to combat problems relevant to a specific area. Key findings from this report include the following: 92 percent of judicial search warrants served were at the State level; 78 percent of gang members who were arrested were charged with a felony; 71 percent of firearms seized were reported to the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN); and 94 percent of defendants accepted for prosecution on felony charges were charged at the State level.
