Abstract
The Corrections Technology Center of Excellence has produced this guide to addresses the need for information on how to best handle the various types of offender tracking evidence that may be required in a court proceeding. Agencies that use offender tracking technology as a supervision tool may need to introduce the equipment and/or the data generated as evidence in a court proceeding. This publication, developed for agencies that operate offender tracking programs and have a basic understanding of the technologies used, provides a compilation of best practices and helpful advice from criminal justice professionals experienced with offender tracking evidence and protocols. The guide seeks to promote more effective practices related to offender tracking evidence collection, preservation and presentation. This publication has been deemed "Law Enforcement Sensitive," and as such, is available only to criminal justice personnel. To request a copy, please email [email protected].
