As it has throughout its 21-year history, in 2017 the NLECTC System has continued to provide 1) scientific and technical support for the National Institute of Justice's (NIJ's) research development test and evaluation projects; 2) support for the transfer and adoption of technology into practice in criminal justice fields; 3) assistance in developing and disseminating equipment performance standards and technology guides; 4) assistance in the demonstration, testing, and evaluation of criminal justice tools and technologies; 5) technology information, along with general and specialized technology support; and 6) assistance in setting NIJ's research agenda. NLECTC's activities performed in 2017 focus on the Justice Technology Information Center's innovations in its TECHBeat publication, In reporting on its work in standards and testing, attention is given to the Michigan State police vehicle and motorcycle evaluation as a means of informing law enforcement agencies' purchasing decisions.
