Abstract: |
The Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation (CTAS) provides federally recognized tribes and tribal consortia with funding for developing a comprehensive and coordinated approach to public safety and victimization. BJA’s Body-Worn Camera (BWC) Policy and Implementation Program assists law enforcement agencies interested in piloting, establishing, or improving BWC policy and implementation programs. BJA’s Bulletproof Vest Partnership (BVP) Program assists any government unit recognized by the U.S. Census Bureau that employs law enforcement officers in purchasing bullet-resistant body armor for sworn law enforcement officers. BJA’s Enhanced Collaborative Model Task Force to Combat Human Trafficking assists law enforcement agencies and their communities in developing effective and sustainable multidisciplinary task forces that implement coordinated, victim-centered approaches for identifying victims of sex and labor trafficking. BJA’s Innovations in Community-Based Crime Reduction Program assists high-crime communities by supporting the integration of officers and innovative enforcement strategies into community-based crime-reduction efforts. BJA’s National Sexual Assault Kit Initiative assists law enforcement and prosecutors in addressing the challenges of managing the backlog of sexual assault kits that have not yet been tested in a crime laboratory. |
