This fact sheet summarizes the resources of the federal Administration for Children and Families (ACF) that are relevant to the goals of Operation Lady Justice (OLJ), which is an initiative by the Presidential Task Force on Missing and Murdered American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN) that aims to improve the operation of the criminal justice system in addressing the concerns of AI/AN communities regarding missing and murdered people, particularly missing and murdered women and girls.
Abstract
The Administration for Children and Families uses federal resources to address the needs of domestic violence survivors, runaway and homeless youth, and trafficking survivors, who are at high risk to become missing or murdered. In support of OLJ, the ACF focuses on using its resources to assist victims of domestic violence and trafficking, as well as runaway and homeless youth in ways that reduce their risk for becoming missing or murdered. This fact sheet briefly describes each of ACF's four primary hotlines/helplines supported by ACF. They are 1) the National Domestic Violence Hotline; 2) the StrongHearts Native Helpline, which provides culturally appropriate help for AI/AN victims of domestic violence and dating violence; 3) the National Runaway Safeline; and 4) the National Human trafficking Hotline. Services and contact information are noted for each of these hotlines.
