THE AUTHOR REJECTS THE APPLICABILITY OF RESEARCH ON CAPITAL PUNISHMENT TO OTHER FORMS OF PUNISHMENT BECAUSE OF THE EXTENUATING AND VERY DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES ASSOCIATED WITH THE CRIME OF MURDER.
