THE RETRIEVAL SYSTEM UNDER DISCUSSION USES ASSIGNED DESCRIPTORS TO FACILITATE THE IDENTIFICATION OF UNKONWN SINGLE LATENT FINGERPRINTS.
Abstract
THE DESCRIPTORS ARE CODED INTO A MINI-COMPUTER INTERFACED WITH A MICROFILM READER-PRINTER. USING THIS METHOD, A COMPLETE OR PARTIAL LATENT FINGERPRINT SEARCH CAN BE MADE WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT FINGER OR HAND LEFT THE LATENT. A CHART AND A WRITTEN DESCRIPTION OF THE CODING SYSTEM ARE PROVIDED.
