Abstract
THE DISADVANTAGES ARE INCREASED COST, PREGNANCIES, PROSTITUTION, AND PIMPING. THE ARTICLE IS DIVIDED INTO FOUR PARTS, FIRST A DISCUSSION OF WHICH STANDARD IS PRESENTLY APPROPRIATE TO TEST THE CONSTITUTIONALITY, UNDER THE EQUAL PROTECTION CLAUSE, OF THE CURRENT PRACTICE OF SEXUALLY SEGREGATED PRISONS; SECOND, A CONSIDERATION OF THE PRESENT PRISON SYSTEM; THIRD A DESCRIPTION OF THE SEXUALLY INTEGRATED PRISON; AND FOURTH, AN EVALUATION OF THE RELATIVE MERITS OF THE TWO DIFFERENT SYSTEMS.
