WITH A FEW EXCEPTIONS, DRUG ADDICTS DO NOT HAVE INNATE CRIMINAL TENDENCIES, BUT RATHER WERE ORIGINALLY BLAMELESS PEOPLE WHOSE ADDICTION RESULTED IN A WEAKENING OF THE WILL AND LOSS OF INHIBITIONS.
Abstract
STATISTICS ARE PRESENTED RESULTING FROM A STUDY OF DRUG RELATED CRIMES COMMITTED BY WEST GERMAN ADDICTS (BREAKING INTO PHARMACIES, FORGING OR FALSIFYING PRESCRIPTIONS). THE STATISTICS COVER FAMILY SITUATION, EDUCATION, SOCIAL SITUATION, CRIMINAL RECORD, AGE AT WHICH DRUGS WERE FIRST USED AND TYPE OF DRUG FIRST USED, AND SUCH INDIVIDUAL PHENOMEA AS MENTAL RETARDATION AND PSYCHOSES OR SUSPECTED PSYCHOSES. IT WAS FOUND THAT CONTACT WITH HIPPIE GROUPS WAS ONE OF THE MAIN CAUSES OF THE CRIMINAL DEGENERATION OF MEMBERS OF THE GROUP UNDER STUDY. --IN GERMAN
