AN EXAMINATION OF THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS AND CONSTRAINTS UPON TELEPRINTERS IN THE EXISIING LAND-MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS ENVIRONMENT, AND A DESCRIPTION OF THE XEROX MOBILE PRINTER SYSTEM.
Abstract
THIS PRINTING SYSTEM CONSISTS OF A DOT-MATRIX ELECTROGRAPHIC PRINTER WITH A PRINTING RATE OF 280 WORDS PER MINUTE. THE COMPANION BASE STATION UNIT, THE XEROX CENTRAL TRANSLATOR, PROVIDES THE CODE CONVERSION FROM PARALLEL BINARY INPUT TO THE MODULATED SERIAL BINARY PSEUDO-FACSMILE OUTPUT WHICH IS TRANSMITTED OVER THE RADIO CHANNEL TO THE SYSTEM PRINTERS.
