INSTITUTIONAL STRUCTURE OF THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM IN THE SOVIET UNION FOR PROCESSING JUVENILES INVOLVED IN SEXUAL OFFENSES, HOOLIGANISM, PROSTITUTION, PORNOGRAPHY, AND ACTIVITIES CONTRIBUTING TO DELINQUENCY BY JUVENILES.
Abstract
A UNIQUE FEATURE OF THE SYSTEM ARE THE COMMISSIONS FOR CASES OF MINORS COMPOSED OF ELECTED MEMBERS OF GOVERNING COUNCILS (SOVIETS) AND REPRESENTATIVES OF UNIONS, COMMUNIST YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS, SCHOOLS, HEALTH AND WELFARE AGENCIES, AND OTHER PUBLIC AND SOCIAL ORGANIZATIONS. THE COMMISSIONS COORDINATE JUVENILE DELINQUENCY DETERRENCE AND PREVENTION AND OVERSEE JUVENILE CORRECTIONAL CONDITIONS. ALSO DESCRIBED ARE BASIC SANCTIONS AND MEASURES IN THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM. --IN FRENCH
