THE PRESENT STUDY OF CRIMINALITY - AS INDICATED BY AN ILLEGAL MEANS OF SUPPORT, ARRESTS, AND TIME JAIL - DURING TREATMENT FOR DRUG ABUSE REVEALED NO TRENDS OVER THE FIRST YEAR OF TREATMENT.
Abstract
A SAMPLE OF 3483 OUTPATIENTS WAS FOLLOWED FOR THE FIRST 6 TO 12 MONTHS IN METHADONE MAINTENANCE OR DRUG-FREE TREATMENT PROGRAMS AT 31 DIFFERENT AGENCIES PARTICIPATING IN THE DRUG ABUSE REPORTING PROGRAM. GREATER EVIDENCE OF CRIMINALITY WAS FOUND, HOWEVER, FOR MALES, MEXICANAMERICANS, AND 23-25 YEAR OLD PATIENTS THAN FOR OTHER GROUPS. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
