A STUDY WHICH USES A SAMPLE OF 2, 400 PEOPLE FROM VARIOUS ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL LEVELS TO DETERMINE IF DIFFERENT GROUPS VIEW THE POLICE AND THEIR ROLE AND EFFECTIVENESS IN DIFFERENT WAYS THAN THE POLICE THEMSELVES DO.
Abstract
THE 2,400 CAME FROM 4 CITIES: COLOGNE, TEL AVIV, ROME, AND NEW YORK. THE STUDY BEGINS BY DESCRIBING THE 2,400, AND THEN THE METHODS USED TO DETERMINE THE HYPOTHESIS. THE STUDY SHOWS THE HYPOTHESIS TO BE TRUE, AND PRESENTS A SUMMARY OF THE FINDINGS AND A LIST OF CONCLUSIONS THAT CAN BE DRAWN. THE APPENDIXES GIVE IN SOME DETAIL THE SPECIFIC QUESTIONS THE 2,400 PARTICIPANTS ANSWERED IN CONNECTION WITH THE STUDY.
