Abstract
THE AUTHOR EMPHASIZES THE POINT THAT THE ADMINISTRATOR SHOULD CAREFULLY EXAMINE THE MANAGEMENT IMPLICATIONS PRIOR TO EXERCISING HIS DISCRETION TO PROCEED WITH SUCH A PROGRAM. A REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE BEARING ON TEAM POLICING IS MADE AND THEN THE FOLLOWING ASPECTS OF TEAM POLICING ARE DISCUSSED: DEMANDS ON THE PATROLMAN, BASIC OPERATIONAL ELEMENTS AND ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORTS, DECENTRALIZATION, AND PARTICIPATORY MANAGEMENT.
