PART ONE OF THIS VOLUME CONTAINS 66 PAPERS PERTAINING TO THE GENERAL FIELD OF SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPY (SEM) WHILE THE NINE PAPERS IN PART TWO ARE DEVOTED SPECIFICALLY TO POTENTIAL SEM APPLICATIONS IN CRIMINALISTICS. ABSTRACTS AND 'DISCUSSION WITH REVIEWER' SECTIONS ARE INCLUDED WITH ALMOST EVERY PAPER. SINCE EACH PAPER HAS BEEN REVIEWED BY AT LEAST TWO INDIVIDUALS, THIS LAST FEATURE SERVES BOTH AS A CRITICAL ANALYSIS AND CLARIFICATION OF MOST POINTS.
