Abstract
THE NORFOLK POLICE DEPARTMENT CONSISTS OF 537 SWORN AND 115 CIVILIAN PERSONNEL AND SERVES AN AREA OF 38 SQUARE MILES CONTAINING 287,000 PEOPLE. THE DATE OF THIS REPORT IS MARCH, 1976. THE AUTHOR OF THE REPORT FOUND THE CRIME ANALYSIS UNIT BASICALLY ADEQUATE BUT MAKES SEVERAL RECOMMENDATIONS TO ENHANCE AND OPTIMIZE THE SUPPORT OF THE UNIT TO THE FORTH COMING PATROL EMPHASIS PROGRAM. APPENDED MATERIAL INCLUDES ITEMS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE PATROL EMPHASIS PROGRAM ITSELF.
