A NARRATIVE AND STATISTICAL REPORT PROVIDING BASIC INFORMATION ON JUVENILE COURT REFERRALS AND ACTIVITIES.
Abstract
FACTORS WHICH MAY HAVE AFFECTED JUVENILE COURT STATISTICS FOR THIS YEAR ARE FIRST DESCRIBED. THESE INCLUDE THE INITIATION OF A NEW CRIMINAL CODE FOR KENTUCKY, AND THE PROTEST DISORDERS OCCURRING AS A RESULT OF COURT ORDERED DESEGREGATION OF JEFFERSON COUNTY SCHOOLS. THIS REPORT PROVIDES DATA ON THE DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS OF JUVENILES REFERRED; SOURCES OF REFERRAL; MANNER OF HANDLING; REASON REFERRED; AND THE EDUCATION, LIVING ARRANGEMENT, AND SOCIAL STATUS OF REFERRED JUVENILES. IT WAS NOTED THAT THE GENERAL NUMBER OF REFERRALS FOR 1975 WAS VIRTUALLY THE SAME AS IN 1974.
