Abstract
THIS PAMPHLET IS ONE OF A SERIES OF REPORTS OF THE UTAH COUNCIL ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE ADMINISTRATION. THE STANDARDS AND RECOMMENDATIONS CONTAINED IN THESE REPORTS ARE BASED LARGELY ON THE WORK OF THE NATIONAL ADVISORY COMMISSION ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE STANDARDS AND GOALS. STANDARDS ARE PROVIDED ON THE FOLLOWING AREAS: PROVISION OF PROSECUTIONAL SERVICES; SELECTION AND TRAINING OF ASSISTANT PROSECUTORS; SUPPORT PERSONNEL AND FACILITIES; ESTABLISHMENT OF A STATEWIDE ASSOCIATION OF PROSECUTORS; PROSECUTORIAL EDUCATION; PROSECUTORS INVESTIGATIVE CAPABILITIES; THE RELATIONSHIP OF THE PROSECUTOR AND THE PUBLIC; AND THE PROSECUTION OF ORGANIZED CRIME. FOR EACH STANDARD, THE NATURE OF THE STANDARD, THE STATUS OF UTAH WITH RESPECT TO THE STANDARD, AND METHODS OF IMPLEMENTING THE STANDARD ARE DISCUSSED.
