THIS REPORT FOR THE ILLINOIS LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMISSION, DATED NOVEMBER 16, 1972, IS CONCERNED WITH CONVERTING MANUALLY-ORIENTED DATA INSTRUMENTS TO THE PROPER CODING FORMAT FOR ANALYSIS.
Abstract
THE SURVEY WAS CONCERNED WITH CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND RESULTANT ARREST/DISPOSITION INFORMATION IN THREE ILLINOIS CITIES, DECATUR, SPRINGFIELD, AND WAUKEGAN. THE CONSULTANT DEVISED A CODING TECHNIQUE UTILIZING CLEAR ACETATE OVERLAYS IN ORDER TO CONVERT THE DATA TO A MORE USEABLE FORM.
