THIS MONOGRAPH PRESENTS RECOMMENDED GUIDELINES FOR A SHORTER PRESENTENCE REPORT TO BE USED UNDER SELECTIVE CIRCUMSTANCES.
Abstract
THE EMPHASIS IS ON PROVIDING THE ESSENTIALS NECESSARY TO ARRIVE AT A SENTENCING DECISION OF A DECISION REGARDING THE ULTIMATE RELEASE OF AN OFFENDER. THE DESIGN OF THIS SHORTER REPORT IS BASED ON THE OPINION THAT A SHORT, PRECISE REPORT, FULLY READ AND CONSIDERED IS MORE EFFECTIVE AND FUNCTIONAL THAN A COMPREHENSIVE REPORT NOT CONSIDERED OR USED. OUTLINED ARE THE CIRCUMSTANCES UNDER WHICH THE SHORTER FORM COULD BE USED, ITS CONTENTS, AND FORMAT. A SAMPLE SELECTIVE REPORT IS APPENDED.
