NEW BRITAIN (CT) ORGANIZED A CONFERENCE WITH POLICE AND SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES TO FACILITATE INTERAGENCY COOPERATION AND TO CREATE MORE RESPONSIVE SERVICE PROVISION.
Abstract
THE CONFERENCE STRESSED THE INVOLVEMENT OF LINE PERSONNEL IN THE PLANNING PROCESS. SIX MAJOR PROBLEM AREAS WERE DISCUSSED: HANDLING OF EMERGENCY TRANSPORTATION CASES; HANDLING OF INTOXICATED AND MENTALLY DISTURBED PATIENTS; HANDLING OF LOST OR MISSING PERSONS; INVESTIGATION OF THE RESOLUTION OF TENANT/LANDLORD COMPLAINTS; ENFORCEMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY CODES; AND DEALING WITH FAMILIES EXPERIENCING A VARIETY OF ACUTE SOCIAL PROBLEMS.
