DESCRIPTION OF A SQUAD ORGANIZED WITH PERSONNEL FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES IN SEVEN COUNTIES IN THE METROPOLITAN TOPEKA (KS) AREA TO INVESTIGATE MAJOR CRIMES SUCH AS MURDER, AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, ROBBERY, AND RAPE.
Abstract
THIS REPORT IS PART OF A STUDY OF POLICE SERVICES IN 200 METROPOLITAN AREAS. IT DESCRIBES THE ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE UNIT WHICH IS MADE UP OF 50 MEMBERS FROM THE JACKSON, JEFFERSON, DOUGLAS, OSAGE, WABAUNSEE, POTTAWATOMIE, AND SHAWNEE COUNTIES. A DISCUSSION OF THE INVESTIGATIONS ALREADY CONDUCTED BY THE UNIT IS ALSO INCLUDED. SQUAD BY-LAWS AND THE DUTIES OF OFFICERS WITHIN THE SQUAD ARE LISTED.
