A POLICE TRAINING DOCUMENT WHICH DISCUSSES HOW THE OFFICER MAY BEST CONTROL HIS NATURAL REACTIONS TO PERCEIVED DANGER, AND THUS RETAIN USE OF HIS JUDGEMENTAL CAPABILITIES.
Abstract
IT IS SAID THAT OFFICERS MUST NOT BE DISCOURAGED FROM EXPECTING, ACCEPTING, AND EVEN EXPRESSING THEIR NATURAL REACTIONS OF FEAR. IN ADDITION, A SURVEY IS CITED WHICH INDICATES THAT THOSE WHO FEEL THEMSELVES TO BE WELL TRAINED WILL EXPERIENCE LESS FEAR IN A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. FOR THE RELATED TRAINING KEY DESCRIBING THE EFFECTS OF DANGER AND FEAR UPON INDIVIDUALS, SEE NCJ-35961.
