THIS REPORT IS AN EVALUATION OF SIX PRETRIAL DIVERSION PROJECTS FUNDED BY THE MINNESOTA GOVERNOR'S COMMISSION ON CRIME PREVENTION AND CONTROL SELECTED DUE TO THEIR FOCUS ON SERVICE TO AN ADULT CLIENTELE.
Abstract
IT INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING SIX ADULT PROJECTS - DIVERSION AND REHABILITATION, BELTRAMI COUNTY (MN); OPERATION DENOVD, HENNEPIN COUNTY (MN); LYON COUNTY (MN) PROSECUTION/DIVERSION PROJECT; OFF-CON, OTTER TAIL COUNTY (MN); REGION DIVERSION, MCLEOD, MEEKER, REDWOOD, AND RENVILLE COUNTIES (MN); AND PROJECT REMAND, RAMSEY COUNTY (MN). THE PURPOSE OF THE REPORT IS TO PROVIDE THE COMMISSION, PROJECT PLANNERS, AND PROJECT ADMINISTRATORS WITH DECISION MAKING INFORMATION CONCERNING PRETRIAL DIVERSION PROJECTS. THE REPORT CONTAINS A DESCRIPTION OF THE PRETRIAL DIVERSION PROCESSES IN THE SIX PROJECTS, AN ANALYSIS OF THE COSTS OF THE PROJECTS AND AN ASSESSMENT OF THE SUCCESS OF THE PROJECTS IN REACHING THEIR STATED GOALS.
