FINAL REPORT ON A COMMUNITY BASED REHABILITATION PROGRAM FOR EX-OFFENDERS WHICH PROVIDED EDUCATION, SKILLS TRAINING, AND EMPLOYMENT FOR APPROXIMATELY 225 ADULT AND JUVENILE CLIENTS.
Abstract
THE OFFENDER REINTEGRATION PROGRAM (ORP) WAS ORGANIZED TO ESTABLISH AND STABILIZE EDUCATION, VOCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, AND EMPLOYMENT OF OFFENDERS IN ALBUQUERQUE (NM) AND THROUGHTOUT THE STATE AS WELL AS TO REDUCE THE RECIDIVISM RATE OF CLIENTS BY 50 PERCENT WHEN COMPARED TO NON-CLIENT OFFENDERS. ORP RESEARCH ACTIVITIES INCLUDED STUDY RECIDIVISM RATES, SALARIES, AND SCHOOL SUCCESS RATES FOR CLIENTS AND COMPARING THEM WITH SIMILAR DATA FOR NON-PARTICIPANTS.
