FINAL REPORT ON THE FIRST STEP OF A NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE (NILECJ) STRATEGY TO TRANSFER ACTION-RESEARCH FINDINGS IN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM.
Abstract
THE DEMONSTRATION AND REPLICATION EXPERIMENTS (DARE) PROGAM/POLICE FAMILY CRISIS INTERVENTION TRAINING SOUGHT TO EXTEND THE FINDINGS OF A BASIC EXAMINATION OF POLICE OFFICERS IN THE ROLE OF THIRD-PARTY INTERVENORS IN FAMILY CRISIS SITUATIONS IN NEW YORK CITY. SIX CITIES WERE CHOSEN TO IMPLEMENT FAMILY CRISIS INTERVENTION PROGRAMS ON THE BASES OF PRIOR AWARENESS OF THE CONCEPT AND NEW YORK'S TRAINING PROGRAM AND A PRIOR DEMONSTRATION OF INTEREST AND ABILITY TO IMPLEMENT COMPLEX PROJECTS. PROGRESS EVALUATIONS WERE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF CONTRACTORS IN EACH CITY.
