DISCUSSION OF THE BASIC CRIME CAUSE FACTORS IN THE CASE OF WHITE COLLAR CRIME AND OF PRESENT AND FUTURE PUBLIC ATTITUDES TOWARD THIS KIND OF OFFENSE.
Abstract
THE PAPER CONCLUDES THAT PUBLIC TOLERANCE OF WIDESPREAD WHITE COLLAR CRIME IS DUE TO THE FACT THE BASIC MENTALITY OF THIS KIND OF OFFENDER IS IDENTICAL WITH THAT OF A MAJORITY OF THE PUBLIC. THE MENTALITY CONSISTS OF A PROFOUND RESPECT FOR SUCCESS BASED ON MONEY AND THE POSSESSION OF MATERIAL GOODS. CONSEQUENTLY, IT IS UP TO PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS SUCH AS THE LEGISLATURE TO PERCEIVE THE GRAVE THREAT TO SOCIETY THAT IS POSED BY WHITE COLLAR CRIME AND TO PROVIDE FOR ITS DEFERRENCE AND PREVENTION. --IN FRENCH
