STUDY OF NORTH CAROLINA'S WORK RELEASE PROGRAM TO EVALUATE THE POTENTIAL OF COMMUNITY BASED CORRECTIONS FOR SAFEGUARDING THE COMMUNITY FROM DANGEROUS OFFENDERS AND FOR REINTEGRATING PRISONERS INTO COMMUNITY LIFE.
Abstract
THE DATA EMPLOYED IN THE STUDY INCLUDE STATISTICS ON ALL NORTH CAROLINA PRISONERS PLACED ON WORK RELEASE FROM THE BEGINNING IN 1957 THROUGH 1963. THIS STATE WAS SELECTED FOR STUDY BECAUSE OF THE DEGREE TO WHICH THIS STRATEGY WAS APPLIED TO FELONS.
