THIS REPORT REPRESENTS THE EFFORTS UNDERTAKEN BY THE AEROSPACE DEVELOPMENT GROUP DURING THE 15-MONTH TIME PERIOD FROM JULY 1, 1975 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 1976.
Abstract
THE AEROSPACE CORPORATION HAS BEEN UNDER CONTRACT SINCE MAY 1972 AS THE DEVELOPMENT GROUP TO PROVIDE ANALYSIS OF EQUIPMENT NEEDS AND PROBLEMS RELATED TO CRIME PREVENTION, LAW ENFORCEMENT, AND CRIME CONTROL UNDER THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM AND TO TRANSLATE EQUIPMENT NEEDS INTO PRACTICAL SYSTEMS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE OPERATIONS. DURING FY 76, THE DEVELOPMENT GROUP SUPPORTED FOUR GENERAL CATEGORIES OF EFFORT - GENERAL PROGRAM PLANNING, ANALYSIS, DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT, AND SPECIAL TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND GRANT MONITORING. THESE ACTIVITIES, THEREFORE INCLUDED STUDIES TO IDENTIFY HIGH-PRIORITY PROBLEMS AND DEFINE SOLUTIONS TO THESE PROBLEMS, AS WELL AS SYSTEM ENGINEERING AND TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT SUPPORT FOR GUIDING THE DEVELOPMENT AND FIELD TEST OF NEW AND IMPROVED EQUIPMENT TO SOLVE THESE PROBLEMS. THE FY 76 ACTIVITY UNDER EACH CATEGORY IS INDIVIDUALLY DESCRIBED AND SUMMARIZED BRIEFLY. APPENDED MATERIALS INCLUDE A SUMMARY OF THE MAJOR DOCUMENTATION PREPARED DURING THE FISCAL YEAR.
