OUTLINES A PROGRAM FOR IMPROVING MEDICAL SERVICES IN KENTUCKY STATE CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS.
Abstract
AT PRESENT, THE AMOUNT OF MONEY SPENT ON THE HEALTH CARE NEEDS FOR INMATES IS ONLY 30 PERCENT OF THE TOTAL HEALTH BILL OF THE PRIVATE CITIZEN. IT IS THE MEDICAL COORDINATOR'S AIM TO 'BRING THE HEALTH CARE SERVICES FOR INMATES UP TO THE SAME LEVEL AS THOSE FOR THE AVERAGE CITIZEN'. THE DESIGN FOR UPGRADING HEALTH SERVICES INCLUDES A COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CARE PROGRAM COVERING THE PSYCHIATRIC, SOCIAL, DENTAL, AND MEDICAL NEEDS OF INMATES. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)...KAP
