Abstract
TWENTY WITNESSES TESTIFIED BEFORE THE SENATE SELECT COMMITTEE ON CHILDREN AND YOUTH ON DECEMBER 18, 1973. THEY INCLUDED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS, YOUTH SERVICE DIRECTORS, CORRECTIONS OFFICIALS, AND A CITIZEN. TWO SPEAKERS WERE FROM LAS VEGAS, NEVADA. THE WITNESSES TESTIFIED ABOUT HOW THE PROBLEM OF RUNAWAY CHILDREN AFFECTS THEIR RESPECTIVE AGENCIES, AND HOW THEY ARE COPING WITH IT. THE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN SAID THE LEGISLATURE PLANNED TO DRAFT A BILL ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM THAT WOULD CONFORM WITH THE FEDERAL CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION ACT....BS
