PROFILE OF THE FIFTY STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA IN THE FIELD OF JUDICIAL EDUCATION, UPDATED IN OCTOBER 1976.
Abstract
THE BASIC DATA CHART GIVES THE YEAR EACH STATE BEGAN ITS JUDICIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM, DESCRIBES THE STAFFING PATTERN EMPLOYED IN EACH STATE, STATES THE TRAINING BUDGETS AND FUNDING SOURCES FOR EACH STATE, AND DESCRIBES EACH TRAINING ORGANIZATION'S EVALUATION PROCEDURE. A SECOND SECTION DESCRIBES MANDATORY JUDICAL EDUCATION AND THE HISTORY OF JUDICIAL EDUCATION AS WELL AS PROVIDING A BASIS FOR ANALYSIS OF THE PRESENT MANDATORY TRAINING SITUATION. THE NEXT MAJOR SECTION PRESENTS THE ACTUAL RULE, STATUTE, OR CONSTITUTIONAL PROVISION RELATING TO TRAINING. PARTICULAR TRAINING PROGRAMS OFFERED IN EACH STATE ARE DESCRIBED IN THE FOLLOWING SECTION. THE LAST TWO SECTIONS LIST TRAINING DEVELOPED BY INDIVIDUAL STATES AND BRIEFLY DESCRIBE NATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMS FOLLOWED BY AN ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY OF SELECTED MATERIALS.
