BOOKLET GIVES AN EVALUATION OF THE RESPONSE THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CHIEFS OF POLICE'S ORGANIZED CRIME BULLETIN HAS RECEIVED.
Abstract
THE FIRST ISSUE OF THE BULLETIN CAME OUT IN FEBRUARY 1976, UNDER A 12-MONTH LEAA GRANT. ITS PURPOSE WAS TO KEEP LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES AND OFFICIALS INFORMED OF THE LATEST NEWS AND DEVELOPMENTS IN THE FIELD FOR COMBATING ORGANIZED CRIME. TO EVALUATE THE BULLETIN, A QUESTIONNAIRE WAS DRAWN UP AND SENT OUT. QUESTIONNAIRE COMMENTS INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING: 'DON'T ELIMINATE ANY ITEMS FROM THE BULLETIN'; 'I FEEL THE BULLETIN IS A USEFUL TOOL'. 'LETTERS TO THE EDITOR COULD BE CONSTRUCTED AS A SUGGESTION OR A REBUTTAL; AND, I WOULD LIKE TO SEE TREATMENT OF ORGANIZED CRIME DOMINATION OF THE PORNOGRAPHY INDUSTRY.' THE EVALUATION PROPOSED THE RENEWAL OF FUNDING FOR THE BULLETIN AND INCREASING ITS CIRCULATION....BS
