REPORT MAKES SUGGESTIONS ON INCREASING THE EFFICIENCY OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE AND OPERATIONS.
Abstract
THE ATTORNEY GENERAL, IN SEEKING ASSISTANCE, WAS ANXIOUS TO EXPLORE AREAS OF POTENTIAL DIFFICULTY AS WELL AS TO IMPROVE AND EXPAND THE RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO THE STAFF. THE WORK OF THE OFFICE IS DIVIDED INTO THREE GENERAL CATEGORIES: CRIMINAL, CIVIL, AND CONSUMER PROTECTION. THE STUDY'S RECOMMENDATIONS INCLUDE ENLARGING THE SPACE AVAILABLE TO THE STAFF, INSTITUTING A PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM, HIRING MORE PARALEGAL STAFF, CONDUCTING STAFF MEETINGS, AND MAINTAINING TIME SHEETS. THEY ALSO INVOLVE HIRING ADDITIONAL STAFF SUCH AS AN OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR, OMBUDSMAN, AND INVESTIGATORS, DEVELOPING POLICY MANUALS AND EXPANDING THE INTERN PROGRAMS....BS
