REPORT GIVES SUGGESTIONS ON HOW STATE OF TENNESSEE CAN DEVELOP AN EFFICIENT, AUTOMATED COURT INFORMATION SYSTEM.
Abstract
THIS REPORT WAS PROMPTED BY A NEED BY THE COURTS TO DEVELOP A UNIFORM REPORTING AND RECORD SYSTEM. CENTRALIZATION AND COORDINATION OF THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICES WOULD GO A LONG WAY IN PROVIDING UNIFORM PROCEDURES AND SUBSEQUENT REPORTING NECESSARY TO THE COURT SYSTEM, ACCORDING TO THIS REPORT. THIS FUNCTION WOULD BE PERFORMED BY THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY'S OFFICE. OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS INCLUDED ESTABLISHING A WORKING COMMITTEE OF REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE VARIOUS CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCIES TO COORDINATE THE AREA OF RECORDKEEPING AND REPORTING; THE HIRING OF A STAFF TO ASSIST THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY TO THE SUPREME COURT WITH COURT REORGANIZATION; AND CONDUCTING A STUDY OF HOW SUCH A REORGANIZATION WILL AFFECT THE COURT SYSTEM....BS
