REPORT PRESENTS SCOPE OF THE COURT COMPONENT OF A CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION SYSTEM IN ALABAMA.
Abstract
THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM WILL BE COORDINATED BY THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION CENTER (CJIC) AND COMPOSED OF FOUR SUBSYSTEMS, OF WHICH THE COURT COMPONENT WILL BE ONE. IN THE MODEL CONTRACT FOR THE SYSTEM, PARTICULAR ATTENTION WAS PAID TO ASSURING THAT COURT PRIORITIES BE CLARIFIED IN THE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CJIC. IN PLANNING THE PARAMETERS OF THE SYSTEM, SEVERAL FACTORS NEED TO BE KEPT IN MIND. THESE INCLUDE IDENTIFICATION OF THE USERS AND PARTICIPANTS, CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS, AND STRUCTURAL CONSIDERATIONS. SYSTEM NEEDS ASSESSMENT SHOULD INCLUDE STAFF/CONSULTANT IDENTIFICATION, AND USER/DECISIONMAKER IDENTIFICATION OF PROBLEMS....BS
